There are lots of great memoirs about families - and we've included some of the best ones in our Reading List in the magazine - but we prefer to send pairs of books that get you thinking outside your usual bubble, so this quarter we've picked two books that come at the theme of family from unexpected angles.
Book One is a delightful blend of personal history seen through the lens of the UK's housing crisis. It's warm, lively, funny, often eye-opening and a thoroughly good read from start to finish. Written by a young London-based journalist, broadcaster and editor, this will have you thinking about family in a whole new way.
Book Two upends the genre of biography by getting inside the mind of a woman who has been all-but written out of history. The author creates a vivid and enlightening portrait of George Orwell's wife, Eileen. A truly astounding piece of non-fiction writing that's as gripping as any novel.

Continuing the theme of spending quality time with family, we've partnered with Louise Lockhart aka The Printed Peanut for your second gift.
Nestled at the bottom of your box you'll find everything you need to make your own stylish Christmas decoration based on Louise's bird design, including detailed instructions and templates, a sheet of copper and a length of ribbon.
We've also included one of Louise's best-selling die-cut Christmas cards featuring a cosy festive family home, to send to your favourite family member (or perhaps keep to display on the mantlepiece yourself).

Everything is hand packed by us in delightfully tactile recycled and recyclable packaging.
If you're buying as a gift, we can add an extra message from you and send the box direct to the gift recipient. Or we can post to you if you're planning to hand it over in person.
