Book One
When the Dust Settles by Lucy Easthope
A real gem of a book written by the UK's leading disaster recovery expert. When the Dust Settles is a fascinating insight into how the UK government plans for and responds to disasters, and how people like the author fight to preserve the possessions, privacy and dignity of victims and their families. Full of stories of loss but also of hope. Powerful stuff.
Book Two
Lost & Found by Kathryn Schulz
A beautifully written memoir about the near simultaneous experiences of losing a father and finding a wife. Journalist and author, Kathryn Schulz, expertly leads the reader through the familiar terrain of loss and gain but brings new clarity to our shared human experiences. Funny and moving in equal parts.

Both books came with fold out notes each providing background about the authors and ideas for our subscribers to consider as they read.
Magazine
This quarter's volume of our exclusive 28-page magazine was packed with recommended reading on all different aspects of the theme plus we talked to author Lucy Easthope about When the Dust Settles.
The Extras
We always include two (or more) extra gifts that speak to the theme in a playful way, only ever sourced from ethical and sustainable businesses. These thoughtful extras make a Drift + Focus book box a real treat.
This quarter, we sent our subscribers a little package of book darts, slender brass pointers that slide over the edge of a page to mark important passages. They are archive quality and librarian-approved, designed to help our subscribers refer back to words that matter.
And because the theme of this box was loss, we thought our subscribers might want something to lift the spirits and bring some comfort, so we also included a beautiful paper-wrapped slab of Up Up chocolate.
